Sport Psychology for Every Sport
I work with competitive athletes across more than thirty different sports. Below are a few of the ones I am asked about most. If yours is not here, the work is the same, and I would still love to help.
Choose your sport
A closer look at the mental side of some of the sports I work in. Each page covers the pressures of that sport and how we work on them.
Football
Pressure, selection, confidence after mistakes and leading a team.
Explore football →Tennis
The lonely scoreboard, momentum swings and meeting the biggest points.
Explore tennis →Golf
Range to course, letting a hole go and staying present across all eighteen.
Explore golf →Rugby
Composure under contact, thinking when tired and leading when it matters.
Explore rugby →Boxing & Combat
Fear, composure and performing when it is just you. One of my specialisms.

Alongside the sports above, I work with runners, cyclists, athletes in track and field, swimmers, netballers, cricketers, badminton and table tennis players, darts players, trampolinists, martial artists and Hyrox athletes, among others. From GB level competitors to club athletes and young players just starting out, the approach is the same: understand what is really going on, then build skills that hold under pressure.
How I work
My work is grounded in Acceptance Commitment Training and the Chimp Paradox, and it follows one principle: understanding before tools. We start by getting to the root of what is really going on, build a clear picture of why the mind reacts the way it does under pressure, then build skills that hold when it matters.
As an HCPC registered Sport and Exercise Psychologist my practice is regulated and held to a professional standard, and I am also DBS checked, which matters when the athlete in front of me is young. I work online with athletes wherever they are, and every new client starts with a free 30 minute call. No pressure and no obligation.
